A National Register downtown, laid out as squares inside squares. Free estimates on site or remote, and every quote is written for two coats.
What changes here
Covington’s downtown sits inside the Division of St. John, a grid of squares within squares that has been on the National Register since 1981. Painting inside it is not the same job as painting a new subdivision off Tammany Parkway, and pricing it as though it were is how these jobs go wrong.
Older stock
Old siding, old millwork and old paint mean most of the day goes into preparation. On an older frontage the finish is only ever as good as what was scraped, filled and primed underneath it.

Across the Bogue Falaya, off Tammany Parkway. Newer stock and a different set of surfaces.
One of Covington’s older residential neighborhoods, with the housing stock and the hand work that comes with it.
River-adjacent lots where humidity sits higher and morning start times move with it.
Conditions
Four things that change the work here, and what each one means for the schedule and the price.
The Division of St. John has a Historic District Commission, and exterior work inside the district can carry review requirements that are very much easier to satisfy before colors get picked than afterwards. Have that conversation first.
Shade keeps surfaces damp. The elevation taking the least sun through the day is reliably the one that fails first, and it needs its own prep, its own product and sometimes a visit of its own.
Lots near the Bogue Falaya hold their moisture noticeably longer through the morning than lots a few streets back from the water do. So we check the surface against the dew point on site.
Downtown trim profiles do not spray well. Brush work is slower. On that stock it is also the only thing that ends up looking right.
What we run here
Interior and exterior, in all twelve. Inside walls and outside surfaces run out of the same shop, so the crew that quotes your kitchen is the crew that quotes your siding.
